YOUR NEXT 365 DAYS ARE BLANK
YOUR NEXT 365 DAYS ARE BLANK Before a new year
begins, it contains no achievements. No failures. No missed
workouts. No completed projects. No books written. No businesses
built. No relationships strengthened. No promises broken.
No promises kept. It is simply 365 blank days waiting for our
actions. We often ask, “What will the coming year bring for me?”
Perhaps there is another question we should ask: “What will I bring to the coming year?”
Because while circumstances will always play their part, much of what our year becomes
will be influenced by what we repeatedly choose to do with our days. Write your plan.
Know your priorities. Understand your dharma. Then do your karma. Not for three days.
Not until motivation disappears. Not only when circumstances are convenient. Do it with
discipline and consistency. A year does not become extraordinary on the first day. It
becomes extraordinary through what we repeatedly do on ordinary days. 365 blank days.
365 opportunities for karma. 365 opportunities for discipline. 365 opportunities to become.
The pages are waiting. What will you write on them?
THE SUN HAS NO POWER TO CREATE DARKNESS What if
goodness could become so deeply rooted within you that doing deliberate
wrong began to feel unnatural—even when someone had done
wrong to you first? Many times I thought: “They did this to me. I will
do the same to them.” Yet when the opportunity came, I simply could
not. With time, something even more surprising happened. Even seriously
thinking about revenge became difficult. That observation led
me to a deeper question: Can repeated karma eventually become character—
and can character become nature? A petrol engine does not
change its fuel simply because it is surrounded by diesel engines.
And although human beings are infinitely more adaptable than machines, we too build an inner
mechanism through what we repeatedly think, practise, tolerate, resist and do. Every action is training
us. Every habit is shaping us. Every choice between ego and Dharma is leaving an impression.
And slowly, almost invisibly, we are becoming someone. This book explores the journey: FROM
KARMA TO HABIT TO CHARACTER TO NATURE. It is not a book about becoming passive. It
is not asking you to tolerate wrongdoing. It is not asking you to abandon justice. It asks something
much harder: Can you protect yourself without becoming what hurt you? Can you be betrayed
without becoming a betrayer? Can you face dishonesty without becoming dishonest? Can you
experience hatred without manufacturing hatred? Can you possess power without using it for
unnecessary revenge? Can you seek justice while protecting your inner peace? Because another
person’s karma belongs to them. Your Dharma still belongs to you. The sun does not spend its life
chasing darkness. It simply keeps shining. And perhaps our greatest spiritual victory is the same:
Do not allow somebody else’s darkness to decide the quality of your light. Their karma is theirs.
Your Dharma is yours. Keep your sun burning.
book, Dr.Abhishek Gilara asks whether modern civilisation has become
exceptionally good at educating human capability while giving insufficient
attention to educating human character. A person can know how to build
technology without knowing whether it should be used in a particular way.
A person can become wealthy without learning responsibility.
A person can become powerful without learning restraint. A person can possess information without possessing
wisdom. And as artificial intelligence rapidly expands what human beings can do, this distinction becomes more
important than ever. The question is no longer only: How intelligent will our machines become? It is also: How
humane will the human beings controlling those machines remain? Through reflections on education, dharma, character,
business, mentorship, crime prevention, rehabilitation, artificial intelligence, parenting, fitness, leadership
and lifelong learning, Dr. Gilara develops a simple philosophy: KNOWLEDGE GIVES POWER TO THE HAND.
RIGHT EDUCATION GIVES DIRECTION TO THE HAND.** Education should not merely prepare a child to
earn. It should prepare the child to live. To think critically. To control impulses. To distinguish truth from misinformation.
To disagree without hatred. To use technology responsibly. To handle success without arrogance. To handle
failure without surrender. To exercise freedom with responsibility. To build wealth without losing humanity. And to
understand that capability becomes truly valuable when guided by conscience. The goal is not to create identical
minds. It is to create independent minds with responsible hearts. The goal is not a civilisation without laws or
accountability. It is a civilisation that develops stronger internal compasses before external restraint becomes necessary—
and that combines public safety with rehabilitation where genuine change is possible. Above all, this book
asks us to rethink education itself. Not as something that ends with a degree. But as a lifelong process of becoming.
EDUCATE THE MIND. EDUCATE THE CHARACTER. EDUCATE THE CONSCIENCE. EDUCATE THE
CAPABILITY. THEN GIVE IT POWER.** Because the future will not be determined only by how intelligent our
technology becomes. It will also be determined by the character of the human beings using it. We cannot remove
darkness one handful at a time. Sometimes the answer is simpler. SWITCH ON THE LIGHT. And when your own
lamp begins to shine— use it to light another.
