WE ARE NOT LIVING, WE ARE DYING DAILY — PART 2 — Life Is the
Route. Death Is the Destination. Imagine being told: Tomorrow at exactly
1:00 PM, you will die. Would a bigger house make you happy tonight?
Would another car excite you? Would someone’s criticism still disturb you?
Would you waste your remaining hours proving that you were right? Would
you continue carrying an old grudge? Probably not. Because the certainty of
death would immediately reveal the difference between what appears
important and what actually matters. But there is an uncomfortable truth:
your situation today is not completely different. You don’t know that you
will die tomorrow, but you don’t know that you won’t. The countdown has
already begun. The clock is simply hidden. In We Are Not Living, We
Are Dying Daily — Part 2,
Dr. Abhishek Gilara explores what happens when we stop treating death as a distant event and start using
its certainty to live more consciously. Why are we carrying so much luggage on a journey we cannot stay
on? Ego, comparison, possessions, grudges, recognition, expectations, endless desires, the need to prove
ourselves, the need to be appreciated, and the endless need for more. And while carrying all this, are we
accidentally leaving behind the things that actually matter—family, health, karma, character, Dharma,
inner peace, spiritual growth, and God? This is not a book about becoming afraid of death; it is a book
about becoming awake to life. It asks an even deeper question: If everything available in this world has
an expiry date, why are we expecting any of it to give us eternal happiness? Money can provide comfort.
Success can provide opportunities. Possessions can provide convenience. Recognition can provide satisfaction.
But none can promise permanence, because none is permanent. Perhaps the deepest hunger
within us cannot be satisfied by collecting more temporary things. Perhaps the search ultimately has to
move toward the Eternal. Toward God. This book does not ask you to abandon ambition, family, business,
success, or material life. It asks you to put them in their correct place. Work. Build. Earn. Learn.
Love. Create. Serve. Achieve. But don’t forget: You are travelling. And every day, the destination of this
physical body is getting closer. So travel well. Perform your karma. Travel lighter. And don’t spend your
entire journey collecting luggage that cannot cross the final gate. Because ultimately, life is the route,
death is the destination of the body, and God is the destination of the soul. The question is not whether
the journey will end. The question is: Where will the journey take you before it does?
