THE PEN IS STILL IN YOUR HAND — PART II
THE PEN IS STILL IN YOUR HAND You Cannot Control Every Result. But You Can Always Choose Your Next Karma. What if life is not about waiting for the future—but about consciously writing it, one choice at a time? In this deeply personal reflection, Dr. Abhishek Gilara explores the relationship between karma, preparation, responsibility, faith and surrender. The pen represents what remains within our hands: our choices, habits, discipline, learning, effort and direction. But the pen also teaches humility. We can write our karma with sincerity, yet we cannot command every result. Life is influenced by circumstances, other people, timing, nature and realities beyond our control. So the journey is not: “I did everything right, therefore I must receive exactly what I ordered.” It is: Work completely. Prepare completely. Give your karma completely. Then surrender the result. This book is not about blaming people for their circumstances. It is about becoming more responsible for our own actions while remaining compassionate toward the suffering of others. Perhaps yesterday’s line was wrong. Write differently today. Perhaps you stopped. Begin again. Perhaps you need to change direction. Change it. Because as long as another conscious choice remains available—THE PEN IS STILL IN YOUR HAND. And when you have done what is genuinely yours to do, put the pen down, fold your hands, and surrender. Purushartha in your hands. Bhakti in your heart. Dharma in your direction. Surrender in the result.
