SILENCE IS NO MORE SILENCE — PART 6
SILENCE IS NO MORE SILENCE — PART VI: WHEN MY HEART WANTED
SOMEONE TO LISTEN, MY SOUL BROKE ITS SILENCE — What if the one
who most desperately wants to listen to your heart has been within you all along?
At five in the morning, Dr. Abhishek Gilara wanted to express his love for his wife
through a poem, inspired by the previous evening’s Diwali gathering, where he had
quietly watched her enjoying herself while others laughed, talked and played cards.
His silence was not loneliness but happiness, because seeing her happy made him
happy. Yet when he wished to share this beautiful feeling, nobody was available to
listen. In that extraordinary moment of stillness, he experienced what he understood
as the presence of his soul and began questioning whether he had spent his entire
life searching for someone to listen while his own soul had been patiently waiting
for his attention.
This deeply personal experience became the foundation of the sixth part of SILENCE IS NO MORE SILENCE,
in which, through five reflective chapters, he explores the profound connections between love, silence,
self-awareness, spiritual companionship and the soul. Drawing upon his disciplined early morning routine, spiritual
practices, extraordinary writing journey and intimate experiences of everyday life, he asks why we remember
our soul mainly during suffering, why we constantly seek external understanding, and why we overlook
happiness, gratitude and love as pathways to spiritual awakening. He discovers that silence is neither emptiness
nor loneliness but an opportunity to recognise the companion within, and that listening to ourselves does not
mean withdrawing from the world but learning to love it more deeply. Through his spiritual understanding of a
soul that may have waited across countless births to be heard, he reminds readers that every emotion remains
meaningful even when nobody is immediately available to receive it. As he reflects, “I was desperately searching
for someone to listen to my heart. But perhaps my soul had been waiting far longer for me to listen to her.” This
book is for everyone who has ever wished to share a beautiful feeling but found nobody available, offering the
comforting possibility that silence does not mean nobody is there; perhaps it is an invitation to discover the presence
that has always existed within us.
