Our phones have changed. Our cars have changed. Our businesses have changed. Our weapons have changed. Our communication has changed. Artificial intelligence is changing almost everything around us. But has the human mind changed at the same speed? Look at history. Kings wanted more land. Today people want more wealth, influence and market share. Royal courts had jealousy. Modern offices do too. Kings feared losing power. Modern leaders can fear the same. Ancient crowds followed one another. Today trends go viral. People once wanted statues, titles and public recognition. Today we want followers, likes, awards and visibility. The technology changed. THE HUMAN TENDENCIES REMAIN REMARKABLY FAMILIAR. That is why history is not merely a record of the past. It is the worldʼs largest library of human behaviour.  THIS BOOK ASKS A DIFFERENT QUESTION ABOUT HISTORY Not only: What happened? But: Why did humans behave that way? What happens when greed enters wealth? What happens when ego enters power? What happens when jealousy sees another person succeed? What happens when fear enters a crowd? What happens when loyalty is tested? What happens when crisis removes comfort? And most importantly: WHAT CAN THOSE OLD CONSEQUENCES TEACH US BEFORE WE MAKE THE SAME NEW MISTAKE?  FROM ANCIENT EPICS TO ROYAL COURTS, FINANCIAL BUBBLES, WARS, FAMILY CONFLICTS AND MODERN BUSINESS, THE PATTERNS KEEP RETURNING. The throne changes. Power does not. The asset changes. Greed does not. Study crisis before crisis comes. Study history before life forces you to pay personally for lessons humanity already learned.  THE PERSON WHO ONLY STUDIES THE FUTURE MAY UNDERSTAND THE NEXT TOOL. THE PERSON WHO ALSO STUDIES THE PAST MAY UNDERSTAND THE HUMAN WHO WILL USE IT. And in business, leadership, relationships and life— that may be the greater advantage.  READ HISTORY DIFFERENTLY. Do not only memorise dates. Study motives. Do not only admire victories. Study what created them. Do not only examine collapse. Study the warning signs. Do not only identify flaws in historical figures. Find those tendencies inside yourself.
