When Silence Ends, Change Begins

I just read this, and it struck me deeply because it mirrors something I’ve lived and learnt in business. For years, we faced clients who returned goods after using them—a quiet wrong that slowly became a “normal” practice. At first, we handled it politely, avoiding conflict. But politeness without action only feeds wrong behaviour. One day, we decided enough was enough. We started addressing it openly—communicating clearly, setting firm boundaries, and making it known to everyone that such practices would no longer be entertained.
What happened next was remarkable. The moment we made it public and transparent, these wrong practices began to disappear. People think silence keeps peace, but in truth, silence breeds misuse. The best way to correct any wrong human behaviour—whether in business or life—is to bring it to light. Truth, when spoken with firmness and clarity, has the power to transform habits forever.
