Even the best strategies fail if the hidden fundamentals are flawed.
I consider myself extremely disciplined when it comes to health. I follow a strict, clean diet and maintain consistent hygiene that many would call world-class. Yet, just recently, I suffered a severe digestive issue. I was puzzled—how could this happen to someone so conscious and careful?
This morning, around 3:30 a.m., as per my daily ritual, I went to soak chia seeds for my later intake. As I scooped them from the jar, I noticed something unusual—tiny insects or bacteria had infested the seeds. That’s when it struck me: this was the root cause of my illness two days ago.
Now, chia seeds are known to be excellent for health. But even the healthiest food becomes harmful if it’s contaminated.
And just like that, a powerful business insight emerged.
You may be following the finest business strategy—perfect plans, efficient systems, and visionary goals. But if the “ingredients” are infected—be it a toxic team member, a demotivated mindset, outdated machines, or a neglected culture—your company will fall sick, just like I did.
We must regularly check the “mental fitness” of our people and the “technical health” of our machines. Because no matter how brilliant your strategy is, it’s only as good as the people and systems executing it.
An infected chia seed can ruin a healthy body.An infected mindset or broken process can ruin a great company.
Don’t just follow strategy—examine what it’s made of.Keep your core clean. Keep checking what you assume is pure.Because sometimes, even good things silently go bad.
And that silent ignorance is what hurts the most.
