FAIL FAST TO SUCCEED BIG

We often begin new ventures with high hopes and relentless effort, aiming for nothing less than success. But many never get there—not because they didn’t work hard, but because they didn’t fail fast.

Failing fast doesn’t mean giving up easily. It means putting in focused, intense effort early on, so you can quickly discover whether a path is truly right for you. Too many people work slowly on something for years, only to realize much later that it wasn’t meant for them. That delay costs time, energy, and sometimes even self-belief.

We’ve all seen it—students taking science in high school, only to switch to commerce or arts years later after realizing science wasn’t their calling. Or individuals leaving home for foreign lands, chasing dreams, only to find themselves still struggling after years away.

Twenty-five years ago, I was one of those dreamers. I studied hard to crack India’s top MBA exams. But just days before the test, I made a bold decision. I accepted that it wasn’t for me, despite months of dedicated effort. I pivoted and joined our family jewellery business—and today, we’re a globally recognized brand.

The same pattern repeated in my life. I tried golf passionately—only to discover it wasn’t my game. Instead, I focused on fitness and built a physique I’m proud of. I even explored real estate, but within months, I knew my heart belonged in jewellery. Today, I’m honored to be considered one of the best jewellery designers in the world.

The key to my journey? Failing fast. Be honest, act early, and don’t fear a course correction. Fast failure isn’t the end—it’s a smart, powerful beginning to something greater.

What’s holding you back from failing fast—and succeeding faster?
