Are We Really Afraid of AI — Or Should We Be Afraid of Ourselves First

We’re busy debating whether AI will take our jobs. But maybe the more urgent question is: are we already taking our own lives? Not metaphorically. Literally.
Let’s put this into perspective.
We worry that artificial intelligence might replace us in the workplace. Yet, each day, we replace the fuel meant for our bodies with toxins — fast food, processed snacks, alcohol, cigarettes, sugar, and every addiction dressed up as pleasure.
Think of your car. If it runs on diesel, would you ever pour petrol into it? Would you dare mix petrol with diesel and expect it to run fine? Of course not. You’d never do that — because you know it would damage the engine.
But that’s exactly what we do to our bodies every single day. We knowingly (and often proudly) consume things that corrode us from within — clog our minds, organs, and emotions, and drain our natural energy. And then, we blame the world, the system, or the next wave of innovation for our decline.
So, let’s pause and ask — is AI the real threat? Or is it our undisciplined, unaware, and unsustainable lifestyle that’s already doing the damage?
Before you fear machines becoming smarter, make sure you’re not becoming weaker by choice. Before you worry about AI taking over the world, make sure you haven’t already given up ownership of your health, willpower, and purpose.
AI may or may not take your job. But your choices are already taking your sleep, focus, strength, and time.
So here’s the real upgrade we need: save yourself from yourself first. Eat like a human, not like a machine. And fuel your life —not just your fears.
